Join our lab
The lab is currently recruiting highly motivated Postdoctoral fellows and research technicians to study epigenetic mechanisms in development and diseases.
Postdoctoral fellows
We are actively seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position. The project will focus on epigenetic reprogramming in mammalian early development. Applicants with prior trainings in epigenetics, stem cell biology, oogenesis, pre-implantation embryos, bioinformatics or other related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. degree at the start date of the postdoc position.
If interested, please email Dr. Chen directly at zhiyuan.chen@cchmc.org. Please include following documents in a single PDF:
Cover letter including: 1) a brief summary of your previous research experiences, 2) your research interests, and 3) your career goals
Your CV with a list of publications
Contact information of two or three potential references.
Research technicians
Our lab is actively seeking applicants for a research technician position. The technician will lead an independent research project under supervision of Dr. Chen and/or a postdoctoral fellow. This will be a great opportunity to learn a variety of biotechnologies including but not limited to embryo micro-manipulation, (epi)genome editing in embryos and cultured cells, bulk and ultra-low input epigenome profiling (i.e., RNA-seq, RRBS, WGBS, CUT&RUN, CUT&TAG, ATAC-seq, and ChIP-seq), and related bioinformatic analyses. These experiences will be beneficial for your smooth transition into a higher level position in academia or biotech companies. In addition to performing research, the technician is expected to ensure smooth running of the lab by stocking reagents/supplies and maintaining lab inventories, etc. Applicants are expected to have a Bachelor (with 1-2 years of lab experience) or Master degree in biology or related majors.
